Scouting Mentorship Programs

MacLean Hockey is pleased to partner with Future Considerations Hockey to bring high level Coaching and Scouting mentorship programs that will align participants with knowledge, knowhow and most improtantly networks.  All programs are designed by MacLean Hockey and will connect participants with knowledge, experience, data and mentorship from experts from the NHL, CHL, NCAA, Hockey Canada, IIHF, European Pro and Junior Hockey and Hockey Media members.

Our goal is to design challenging and thoughtful programs to help interested coaches and scouts not only get their foot in the door but join existing networks and promote experiences and career path trajectories.  All participants will also be promoted, with their reports, through FCHockey’s web portal.

Programs will be laid out with easy and flexible timelines with online-based meetings, informational podcasts and reading materials

Program Info

War Rooms – Get the team experience of being part of a staff and having to fight, battle and discuss to convince your GM of what you feel is the right decision. In the NHL War Room program, participants are teamed up to make decisions for an existing franchise.  You will learn how to communicate your opinions effectively, build out war room lists and the dynamic process of the draft. This program is beneficial for all levels of scouting, coaching and evaluation.

Video Scouting/Team Dynamics – Participants will learn how to evaluate players through video and understand the opportunities and limitations of the process.  This program also takes you through the process of profiling players, building scouting reports, building tournament reports, creating draft lifts and developing draft strategies.  This program is tailored to those interested in learning player evaluation and scouting techniques at various levels.

Scouting Systems – Not all scouting is around player evaluation. Often people with high level scouting ability are sought out to pre-scout and breakdown future opponents.  In this program, participants will learn how to effectively do this by learning how to evaluate different systems, player tendencies and situational decision making, all with the goal of being able to present and use it to your team’s benefit.  This program is designed with coaches and those with basic scouting or evaluation knowledge in mind.

Evaluating Skill Sessions – 2020 has created some very different situations and challenges.  As the new season begins, the uncertainty of how to properly evaluate players in a year likley burdened with limited competition is going to create a very different methodology for evaluationg and ultimately recruiting talent.  This program works to dig into how to evaluate players outside of competition using techinical skill analysis and differentiation.  We will break down skills, how they evolve physically and how can we predict their value in game play.  This program is designed with coaches and scouts of all levels in mind.

Seasonal Scouting Mentorship Program – This option is a pass for the year.  It is your ticket to access any program at any point between September 1, 2020 and May 1, 2021.  The pricing option is designed to reflect 2 months worth of individual programs, making this a phenomenal value for our first year of offering the program.  This price will expire Sept 30, 2020.
